Our Faith

The gospel of Jesus Christ is this: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16). There is one God who saved us from sin. God graciously substituted His Son for us to live. “Christ died for our sins” (1 Corinthians 15: 3). God offers what he asks and we must answer.

Answering requires a few things:

First of all, we must read the Bible. “Thus, faith comes from hearing, and hearing comes through the Word of Christ” (Romans 10:17).

Secondly, we must believe the message, the Gospel. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes …” (Romans 1:16).

Third, we need to repent, changing our sinful deeds in an act that glorifies God. “I say to you, no, but if you do not repent, you will all perish” (Luke 13: 3).

Fourthly, we must be baptized for forgiveness of sins. “Repent,” said Peter, “and each of you shall be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ to forgive your sins, then you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” (Acts 2:38).

Fifth, we must live faithfully in our relationship with God and His Church. “Let us keep without hesitation the confession of our hope, for the believer is the one who made the promise. Let us look at one another, to exhort ourselves to love and good deeds. Let us not leave our assembly, as they have some habit, but urge each other, and all the more so as you see the day approaching. For if we sin according to will, after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there is no sacrifice for sins “(Hebrews 10: 23-26).
